Trading Post #29 Kynliod

Thank you again everybody for a wonderful round! This week, Kynliod is our post master. And it looks like she would like us to draw something very special.

Toulouse--

Hey, I hope this is the right way to contact you for the TP.

For this week, I'd like to have people draw for my sister, Jen. She's going
through some hard times right now, and currently is in the hospital
unfortunately. It's a complicated situation.

Anyway, what I'd really love from people this week is some art that is out
of your own head. My sister really likes things that are fantasy themed
(not so much dragons/ wizards as just anything not realistic). She is
herself an artist, but prefers to explore surrealism and impressionism (two
genres I myself am a huge fan of).

So, if you guys could just reach into the depths of your imaginations and
create something that revolves around that, that would be amazing.

Also, just as a side note, she's not really into anthro stuff. I know most
of us here are anthro artists, but if you wanted to try your hands at
non-anthro art, this would be the time. I should add that she's not against
anthro art either, so if you feel like you must do anthros, that is fine as
well.

Oh, and P.S. I'm going out of town for the rest of the week because of
what's been going on, so rest assured I will be coming back to look at all
your wonderful arts. I just may not comment right away on it. I will have
limited internet access, so I may get a few comments in here or there.

Well you heard it folks, this week is an extra special round where you get to draw whatever /you/ would like to draw, and maybe have a chance to practice a bit at non anthros, which is always fun as well.

I am the thread killer! I like this one better. Is it too anthro? Am I doing this right at all?

Vantid, online for a sec (borrowing sister's compy). I love your posts so far! I hope it's ok to pick a favorite, but I gotta say that second one you posted is friggin' *awesome*!!! I love it, and it's not too anthro at all! Remember, anthro is OK, I was just commenting that it's not something she draws really. She's a fan of S. Dali (totally spelling that wrong I think) or M.C. Escher (again, my spelling is rather sucky). Holy friggin' cow, I love love love that second post! Eee! =D

Also, you get extra points for not only posting the first arts for this round, but for *double posting arts*! =)

I'll try! I have a pretty cool idea I think, but don't really have the coloring ability to pull it off as I'm picturing it. :P But will load up on reference pictures and try. Hehe.

Aha in my element... I'll see what I can whip up, after I've finished reading my weekly of course :) Tempted to do something Triay and Pak Beastie as I never draw those dudes but always wanted to.

Expect something from me that's for sure. I feel this is gonna be a challenge for those Artist that do nothing but animal related art pieces. Very experasional idea.

I finished up the inking to the piece, just needs color and will be done soon! I hope you like what I got so far. This is one of my character's that there species are called "Almas" which means 'spirit' in spanish. There suppose to be like under water spirits that are lost and pretty much in limbo. Dewiwi, I *love* your character design of Ojor! That's totally sweet! His coloring sample is really awesome too, can't wait to see the finished product. =)

Yeah that's a really cool character, Dewiwi. Very original!

Well may as well post this headshot sketch, I still have no idea why a glance Water Buffalo skull turned into a goat but there we go. Once I've finished mashing the body shape how I like it I can do the proper thing.

Just to show I am working on something! ^.^ Hopefully the coloring will actually make this work though might be too ambitious an idea for my skill level just now. :P

Wow neat idea, Kooky! That's really imaginative.
I was thinking of something less original like the woozy from the Patchwork Girl of Oz. I might yet do it if I find the extra time...unfortunately that blasted Tegaki thing is a little too compelling for me. I'm getting a little sick of all the stupid art though (sexy skinny Anime teenage guys, girls making out, etc...) so I figure I'll be over this little obsession soon enough.
Oz is pretty wacky and fantastical, and the books beyond the first hardly get any attention...
Maybe if I go re-read the woozy segment I'll be inspired (if the poll doesn't go up tonight, that is...not sure how Toulouse is going to count you and Karu's sketches - as place-holders or full-fledged entries).

We shall seeeeeee...

Vizon: Thanks also! :) But yeah I saw that Tegaki and ran the other way before I got trapped. ;) And sadly I had to look up what a woozy was. Never read that series.

But I just need one more day and I swear I'll have the rent...er...wrong e-mail, I mean, I'll have the picture finished!

With me, computer permitting because it's decided, particularly the monitor, to throw fits again :) I'll be so glad when I get a new monitor so I can actually SEE what I'm doing...

Whew, 2.5 hours but finished it! Dali inspired of course and was checking out Roger Dean also, he does really beautiful work. This was fun though and very different!
