Hmmms, well it's a tough balance I'm trying to get across I guess. :) It's supposed to be an inspired fox version of Ian Anderson (http://www.stevecarawayimages.com/albums/britishforeignartists/Ian_Anderson.jpg) who is the lead singer and flutist of Jethro Tull. A prog rock band, though as you can see in the picture he's rather minstrel like, or at least he was back in the 70's. Hehe. So I think I have the look close but if the viewer doesn't know Ian Anderson, then probably won't make the connection that he's in a rock band, in which case they probably won't pick my picture for a rock-theme con book, but ah well I say because I had fun with it. Hail hail rock 'n roll. ;)

Oh ... rock flutist! From his boots, sash, and long coat I was thinking more minstrelly ... and his pose looks a little Micheal Flately-ish. Not that that's a bad thing, just might not be what you were going for ...?

Why not give him a mohawk, then? Or at least some piercings ... XD And the boots should maybe be clunkier on the bottoms and have parallel lacings instead of criss-cross ... that might help take the 'minstrel' edge away!

LOL! Nooo, goodness. Though if it crossed your mind it's Kenny G, then I've failed. *sobs*

Oh you play the flute? Awesome! :) I like the instrument a lot. Glad a genuine flutist approves then. :D But the character was inspired by Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull. Trying to get more of a rock flutist look rather than some minstrel type or whatever. Maybe I need to futz with the outfit a bit more. Hmmmms.

Looks like a scene from Titanic. :D Is he step-dancing?!

The legs look good to me, I can't put my finger on anything wrong. Also you got the flute action right! Yay! (I play the flute, so it bugs me when people don't bother to find a reference for their flute-player drawings ... XD)

Anyway, it looks great, and I can't really find anything wrong with it :3

Doing a picture for a convention book and the theme is ROCK! Hehe. Sketched up something tonight and looking for some feedback. :D Not sure on his center of balance being standing on one foot, leg might be sticking out too far still. Also I'm curious if people actually know who this is referenced off of? I'm not sure if the younger folks will get it. :D Any guesses? Hehe.
