Bonjour everyone! Well it seems we have another non-fiction-type character from Vizon -- herself!
Hey Toulouse! I'd better back off a little from the TP or I won't have any characters left to draw in the future, huh?
Well I've put this character off because I'm more comfortable having folks draw the characters I've invented rather than my 'fursona' as they say. I actually don't even think of it as a fursona per se - I just started drawing a comic and because I liked animals, I represented myself and those around me as cats (females) and dogs (males).
So to cut to the chase - the character is me, "Jo."
Since I started the comic my drawing improved a lot and the character changed and grew as I became more accustomed to drawing it. The earlier versions you might notice I didn't even bother with "hair" as cats don't have hair and my hair was short enough at the time that it could be represented by just some extra long fur. As time progressed and my hair grew, however, it seemed more necessary to include it as it is a significant part of my head/how I really look.
Jo is pretty straight-forward - fluffy ears, glasses that come up behind ears that are a mite lower-set, a big pink nose, fluffy cheeks, and a raggedy-long-haired tail. Claws instead of nails and fur all over. Otherwise rather human.
The trick to Jo is that when I draw her, I draw her wearing whatever I'm wearing right at the moment. So I guess right now I'm wearing black pants, black shoes, and a 'cute' black shirt with white polka dots, a fat black bead necklace that tapers near the ends, and my hair down. Today. But if you like, you can put me in something else. Heck I could use some style suggestions. Why not?

And some photos of me for reference too:

I guess the most important thing is not to make it too serious. I know I'm weird and nerdy and so Jo is too.
Oh to help I should probably give a little more description of my likes/dislikes or something? Uh...
I like my computer and tablet...my piggies, string cheese, the mountains and wildlife, X-men, Sci-fi, photographing interesting bugs, and dinosaurs. And Netflix. And Indian food. And I hate commercials, forms, bad smells, and cilantro.
Well now this should be interesting! You have your challenge, friends, let's see what you come up with. Who knows - maybe you will be the next winner!

I totally forgot to include my most recent drawing of Jo and Batman - the first (and most recent) comic I've drawn since I moved to KC:

I should get back into drawing my comic again...helps me think of figures in 3-D a little better since I have to draw the same character from many different angles. My anatomy could use the boost too... :P

Vizon, I know this probably isn't the place to ask but has something happened to Bun? Noticed your comment on the photo ref though is lovely to see Poke again.

Yeah, apparently Poke isn't the one I should have been worried about. My bunny is gone. Three days after Easter. It happened so fast - there was a blockage in his stomach and he stopped eating. Rabbits can be so delicate. I should not have taken him out to see the children on Easter I guess.

That is a hard question. Colossus, Nightcrawler or Wolverine. Wolverine I guess would have to come out on top as he's the only one I've bought extra comics of (well except for Deadpool). But then again, Nightcrawler is the only one I've dressed up as... and made a fanart page of :P

Ah sorry, thats really sad since he looked a lovely, if rather large, rabbit :( I hope Poke's still doing nicely though, she seems just as fiesty as Goldie was and hope that's still true despite her "sofa" is no longer with her.

What are your feelings about fantasy books like Narnia, Golden Compass, Tolkien etc? :) I gather you like the Potterverse (and Neville <3 ).

I like Narnia and Tolkien - grew up on those. I saw the Golden Compass movie but still haven't read the book so I'm a bit apathetic towards it. My favorite fantasy has been some choice Dragonlance books (specifically "The Legend of Huma" and Knaak's additional books following the minotaur, Kaz). And the Deathgate series. And of course, Brian Jacques' Redwall books. And Harry Potter, yes - that was a fun ride.
But I like anything that tells a good story and has rich character development. A bit of darkness is a plus for me too. Like "Lord of the Flies", "Pan's Labyrinth", "Ender's Shadow", or "Blade of the Immortal." Where life is a constant struggle full of suffering and pain, but where there is still hope.

Oh well...sort of. I started to get into it but then read enough books that I didn't like, that I gave up on it as a whole. No way to tell which books will be good or bad, as even Knaak wrote one that was really horrible. I guess that's the problem with recruiting so many authors (and forcing them to follow elaborate world rules and cataclysmic events). I still like dragons and stuff though - sure. And elves are cool. Minotaurs trump elves though. :)

Ahh, Vizon, I love your comics ... you must work at a sandwich shop -- so do I!! (Well, a coffee/sandwich shop.) The 'being-on-the-phone-and-ordering-at-the-same-time' thing ... drives me absolutely ballistic! >.<
Anyway .. hee ... your character is really cute, I shall try to make something this time around ...

Yep that was my job while I was in college for about three years. It was a good job for being what it was. The business was family-owned so they really cared about the quality and cleanliness of the place, and boy I tell you...I miss eating those subs. Cousin's Subs, they were - and though I worked there so long, I never tired of those sandwiches. Yum! Panara Bread here in KC is the closest I can find.
